Usher Board

The Senior Usher Board ministry has as its primary objective to serve the Lord as it fulfills the mission and vision of Oak Shade Baptist Church. The specific areas of the vision that this ministry is actively directing its efforts include ensuring excellence in our service, witness, and worship; fostering a 'can do' spirit and attitude throughout the membership; and supporting Oak Shade's functions as a resource to its members and the community.

Activities currently being conducted by the Senior Usher Board include:

Humbly welcome and greet all who come to worship.

Assure that visitors are made to feel welcomed and at home.

Ensuring that the needs of the pastor and congregation are met during all services.

Make sure Bibles and hymnals are available in all pews.

Distribute literature as required.

Keeping the sanctuary in presentable order.

This ministry also holds membership in the Interdenominational Church Ushers Association of Virginia and does actively participate in many of the annual Ushers Day events and send representatives to the National Conventions.
