Prison Ministry

The Prison Ministry has as its primary objective to serve the Lord as it fulfills the mission and vision of Oak Shade Baptist Church. The specific areas of the vision that this ministry is actively directing its efforts are:

 

  • To bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people who are incarcerated.

  • To educate people concerning the will of God and his ways in dealing with them.

  • To teach principles of living based on the word of God.

  • To provide all needed and desirable elements required to assist the church to accomplish its stated purposes.

  • Providing monthly financial support to the Tri-county prison ministries.

  • Provide a yearly Angel Tree service for the families of those incarcerated. This program provides gifts for the children and spouses at Christmas.


The following activities are being conducted by this ministry toward that end:

  1. Monthly, 3rd Tuesday, Faquier County Correctional Facility, 7 -9 PM (Men).

  2. Weekly, Wednesday, Manassas Jail (women).

  3. Monthly, 3rd Saturday, Prince William Juvenile Detention Center (youth).
