Prayer

Prayer at Oakshade Baptist Church is of utmost importance.  It is the only way to truly understand God's will.  Every Christian needs to pray to understand what they read in the bible and to talk to God.  There are 6 types of prayer. 

1.  Adoration - To voice your love of God.  To show Him that you give all glory to Him. 

2.  Contrition - To voice to God your sins and ask God to forgive you of your sins.

3.  Love - To voice your love of God.  To let Him know that you love Him above all else.

4.  Petition - God knows you and everything about you, but it's important to voice your desires and needs to him in prayer so that He may guide you to what He wants and needs for you.

5.  Thanksgiving - God does such wonderful things in all of our lives and this is when we take the time to thank Him for everything.  Not just the fact that He gave His only Son but also for waking us up in the morning to getting a good parking spot.

6. Intercessory - So many people in this world need prayer.  This page was created for this reason.  If you want others to pray for you or someone you love click the email link and your request will be posted here.  The names listed will also be forwarded to be put on Oakshade Baptists' prayer list.
